The front corner of the Paints and Sticks studio
Come to the side door — the one with the light on.

The studio is a room in our house at 6 W. French Avenue, Temple, Texas 76501 — which surprises people, so it is worth saying plainly rather than letting you find out from a map. It is a house. You are coming to a house.

Finding it

We are located right on the corner of French Ave and Main Street next to the Presbyterian Church. Park on the street out front on French Ave or on the side on Main St; there is nearly always room. You are also welcome to park behind the house and walk around if you can't find something closer. Come to the front door — it is the one with the light on.

When to arrive

Doors open about ten minutes before the class starts. Turning up at the exact minute is fine; turning up twenty minutes early means standing in a room where someone is still laying out art supplies and making coffee. If you are running late, come anyway — the first ten minutes are aprons and hello.

What to bring

Nothing. Aprons, tools, materials, the kiln and the coffee are all here and included in the price. Wear something you would not mind ruining, because glaze and ink do not always agree to stay on the table.

Getting in the door

There are a few shallow steps in front and the studio itself is on a single level with room to move a chair around. If stairs, standing for long stretches or anything else is a concern, say so when you book and we will set the room up for you before you arrive. There is a ramp on the side of the house if needed.

Are you open?

The class calendar is the honest answer. The studio is open when there is a class in it rather than from nine to five, so if there is a date listed, someone is here.
